April Real Estate Market Update

Prudential Carolinas Realty has released information about real estate markets in several NC areas. These market reports focus on units sold, median sales price, days on market and the inventory of homes for sale.

Winston-Salem - Reports show an increase of 39% for units sold during April from 2012 and a 12% increase from March. The median sales price was around $132,000.

Greensboro - The average sales price was at $154,055, a decrease of about 8% from 2012.  The average days on market continue to decrease significantly; down to 101 days, which is a 10% decrease from 2012 and 12% year-to-date.

Triangle area - Reports show an increase of 37% for units sold during April from 2012 and a 32% increase from March. The median sales price was at $227,700.

Charlotte - The average sales price was at $217,166, a 1.1% increase from 2012.  The average days on market continues to decrease significantly; down to 101 days, which is almost a 13% decrease from 2012 and 10.2% year-to-date.

Prudential Carolinas Realty Supports Empty Bowls Luncheon

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Prudential Carolinas Realty, Winston-Salem’s leading residential real estate firm, took a different approach to Administrative Professionals Day by showing their appreciation to all their staff members by hosting them at the Empty Bowls luncheon in support of Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC.

The 12th Annual Empty Bowls luncheon featured a delicious soup lunch donated by the area's top restaurants and a selection of handcrafted and painted pottery bowls donated by area artists. All proceeds benefited Second Harvest.

Prudential Carolinas Realty Family of Companies Begins 10 Day Food Collection Blitz

WINSTON-SALEM – Prudential Carolinas Realty, Prudential York Simpson Underwood Realty and Prudential Yost & Little Realty, along with its sales associates and staff have begun a 10 day food collection blitz known as ‘10 Days in May’. All sales associates and staff members will be provided grocery bags to be filled with non-perishable food items and returned to their offices for delivery to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC and PORCH.

The 10 Days in May event is part of the Pru Carolinas family of companies food bank initiative, which consists of food drives in all 14 offices and a movie night in Winston-Salem and Greensboro.  In 2012, the Pru Carolinas family of companies donated 171,315 pounds of food to their local food banks—enough to provide about 142,162 meals for those who are food insecure throughout the food bank service areas.
